    Frequenly Asked Questions?

Does having home care result in a loss of independence?

No. Our belief is that independence is being in control of your decisions. Having in home care services means being in control of your activities and retaining as much independence as each situation allows. Many of our clients just need a little help to continue living a safe and productive life while some might be recovering from a fall or surgery, or other condition. Regardless of your situation, our goal is to enable you the best possible outcome while being in control of your care and daily decisions.

How can I trust a caregiver in my home?

Just like nurses and doctors, Professional Caregivers have chosen a career in compassionate care of those in need. Smart eHealth implements a proprietary CareAssure Screening System which includes a comprehensive background check and screening for compassion, identity, integrity, and competence. Less than 5% of all applicants meet our stringent screen and we rarely advertise for caregivers as most come from word-of-mouth referral from other happy clients.

How does Smart eHealth attract the best caregivers?

Our Golden Rule states ‘We will not refer a caregiver into your home that we would not welcome into our own home.’ This high bar was set by our founders and is the backbone of our mission. Similar to any working professional, caregivers are attracted to organizations that have trust, compassion, stability, and hope.

What if we don’t like our caregiver?

Contact us and we’ll refer another caregiver quickly at no additional referral cost.

Will we have a choice in selecting the caregiver

Our CarePairing Process works with each family to understand what unique skills and personality are desired in a caregiver. Feedback from satisfied clients usually indicates that a personality match is the #1 factor in a caregiver match, so we highly encourage client input. We will then make a referral based on our experience and your input.

How do i arrange a care service with Smart eHealth Care?

Contact Smart eHealth Care and make an appointment for us to visit you for a chat about Smart eHealth Care can work for you. We are happy to visit you at home to discuss ways we can help and then, once you have decided, you simply leave the rest to us!

What if I dont like my mobile/online care package and want to make changes?

Our experience tells us that people`s care needs very often change. We, therefore, understand that care may need reviewing from time to time. This is why we carry out reviews on a regular basis and why we are pleased to hear from members of the immediate family about effective methods for delivering the care service for their relative.

What task will my care assistant carry out?

We agree a `Care Plan` which details exactly what you have instructed us to do. This then becomes the work list for each day. Care plans frequently evolve, and we check regularly to ensure that the care we are providing is appropriate.

    What about my personal security?

Every member of the Smart eHealth Care team has been through a rigorous vetting procedure before they start working with us. In addition, all staff will always be uniform and carry a online personalized identification card which shows their name, photograph and signature.

Will I have the same care assistant each day?

This depends on how many care visits you have each week. We very rarely have just one care assistant assigned to a particular customer. This allows for periods of time where your care assistant may be away on holiday. However, we do try to keep the number of your care assistants to an absolute minimum.

Is there anything that my care assistant is not able to do?

Once we have established exactly what you want on each visit, we will work to that list. We cannot carry out tasks which are likely to cause risk to either the person we provide care to or to the Smart eHealth Care assistant. Tasks will be carried with you in advance.

How much do Smart eHealth Care services cost and can I get any help with the fees?

We will put together a detailed plan for each customer which, as well as setting out the care to be delivered, also shows the weekly costs. Some people will be entitled to assistance with the cost of their care either from their local Social Services office or via other government grants.

How do I pay for my care?

We will send you a bill once a fortnight. If you wish to pay by standing order ( to save having to remember to write out a cheque) just let us know. Please get in touch with your local office as the payment methods may vary.

How can I be sure that my care assistant will stay the full period of the care visit and carry out all the tasks?

We take a considered and comprehensive approach to ensuring that your care service is exactly what is required. After every visit, the care assistant will write the details of (which is retained by the customer). In addition, the customer is asked to record their satisfaction by signing the care assistant`s time sheet which is returned to the Smart eHealth Care office each week for checking.
